This site is a tribute to John Mayer, who passed away peacefully at East Cheshire Hospice on 20th June 2024. 

John is a true inspiration to us all, he was never seen without his smile and always put others first despite the difficulties he faced. He never wanted people to know what he was going through and had a continued zest for life with his incredible positivity. He had the ability to light up any room that he walked into and shone so bright, impacting so many people along the way.

John’s wishes were not to have a funeral but rather a celebration of life at a later date. He was passionate about fundraising for East Cheshire Hospice. The hospice is a very special place that has supported John and his family over the last couple of years. John received holistic support, attended day care where he astounded us with watercolour paintings and has benefitted from various therapies throughout his journey. As a family, we are so grateful for the outstanding care John and ourselves have received, especially in his last few weeks of life. The hospice only receives 21% of funding from the government, the rest is from donations, if you would like to leave a donation in John’s memory via this page, we would be so grateful.

John will always be a much loved Husband, Dad, Grandad, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and dear friend to so many special people, he truly touched the lives of everybody he met. We will miss you so much.
